Mr. Satwik Shekhar

Legal Consultant, Research Centre under Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of IndiaMr. Satwik Shekhar, is a Legal Consultant with a research centre under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the Government of India. In this capacity, he is closely involved in policy making, both international as well as domestic, and assisting the Government in formulating its negotiating stance at multilateral and bilateral forums. He is presently involved in framing the National E-Commerce Policy for the Government of India. He provides legal support to analyse the cross-cutting issues related to e-commerce and prepares proposals for developing new laws and amending existing legislations in light of new business models and structures emerging in e-commerce. He is also involved in drafting the said Policy. He is actively involved in stakeholder consultations and interdepartmental meetings to create a standardised understanding of the issues. International best practices and India’s commitments at the WTO and its regional trade agreements are duly studied to remain compliant with India’s international obligations. Prior to working on the Policy, he researched extensively on the issues of Technology Transfer and Electronic Payment Systems and Electronic Authentication mechanisms. He has developed an appreciation for the issues inherent to the e-commerce sector and the data-driven industry.

Ms. Pankhuri Bansal

Senior EconomistMs. Pankhuri Bansal holds a master’s degree in Economics and International Financial Economics from the University of Warwick and Bachelors in Economics and Finance from the London School of Economics. Currently, she is a Senior Economist with Infinite-Sum Modelling where she specialises in data mining, data modeling, statistical analysis and assists clients in business intelligence gathering, trending and benchmarking. She possesses comprehensive analytical, logical and financial skills and is excellent in data manipulation and interpretation. She is adept in statistical software applications such as R, STATA, Python, SQL and GTAP. She was awarded with Warwick-India Scholarship for the Master’s Program at the University of Warwick, UK. She was elected as one of the 320 out of 6600 participants in the world as the delegate at the London School of Economics International Investment Conference, 2016. She has also published a paper on “India’s position in international economic order” (co-authored with Dr. Veena Jha and Mr. Vipin Kumar) in “Global Trade and Customs Journal”.

Ms. Shiny Pradeep

Assistant Professor, Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL)Ms. Shiny Pradeep works as an Assistant Professor with the Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi. She has completed her under-graduation from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal and post-graduation from the National Law University, Delhi. At CTIL, she advises the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), Government of India on issues pertaining to international trade and investment law. In the context of the ongoing negotiations regarding the formulation of disciplines on domestic regulations in trade in services, she has examined the types of domestic regulatory barriers (such as application procedures for licensing and qualification requirements, timeframes for submission of applications, transparency of laws and regulations, etc.) that act as impediments to trade in services. Shiny has participated in the meetings of the Working Party on Domestic Regulations (WPDR) at the World Trade Organisation. She has also worked with MoCI on certain ongoing negotiations of India, particularly on services. She is presently studying the manner in which different laws and regulations that impose barriers to trade in services could be reformed. She is new junior expert associated with projects of IKDHVAJ Advisers LLP.

Ms. Sunanda Tewari

Research Fellow, Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), Government of IndiaMs. Sunanda Tewari is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL) established under the aegis of Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Prior to joining CTIL, she completed her Masters (LLM) in International Economic Law from the University of Edinburgh, U.K. Upon her association with CTIL she has extensively worked on several trade in services related legal issues and advised the Government of India on the same. She has been part of the Indian delegation negotiating the chapter on trade in services for FTAs. She has undertaken a comprehensive study which comparatively analysed the various regulatory barriers present in Indian service sectors in light of JMS initiative on Domestic Regulation and has also drafted India’s communication to the Working Party on Domestic Regulation in regard to Art. VI:4 of GATS and movement of natural persons. She is new junior expert associated with projects of IKDHVAJ Advisers LLP.
